A Million More Migrants Into Sydney Is Rudd's Worst Policy YetRaising the annual migrant intake to 300,000, which would mean bringing a million more migrants into Sydney by 2021 is Rudd's worst policy announcement yet, and that's saying something. Some years ago a controversial and outspoken member of parliament's maiden speech raised the taboo subject of immigration. The fledgling MP said "It is time we considered the enormous cost of bringing migrants to this country". It was Paul Keating , speaking in 1970. He also said the most important population increase was the natural increase, about the first and last time he ever made sense. The truth is there is a shortage of labour partly because our birth rate has dropped below the replacement level, or to put it another way - Australians are dying out. To say that's fine because we're replacing them with migrants is as ridiculous as sayng whales are dying out, but don't worry, we're replacing them with sardines. Some of the reasons Australians aren't having families are beyond our control but there are three that can be blamed on Government policy. Firstly, many couples don't want children because they are afraid of the world they will be bringing them into. They also believe parental authority has been so whittled away they have little say in the way their children are brought up. They can teach them right from wrong at home, but the media will tell them something else and at school they'll be indocrinated with yet another ideology. Secondly couples are so financially stretched paying their mortgage they put off starting a family. But the reason their mortgage is so high is that immigration has pushed up house prices. Thirdly, the Family Law Act has scared many men off marrying and starting families, after they have seen their friends go through heartbreaking divorce cases and lose access to their children and two thirds of their assets. Apart from that we have water shortages, traffic gridlock, extreme scarcity of rental accomodation and overburdened public hospitals. One Nation says: let's have zero-net immigration until the problems we have here already are solved.
