One Nation Backs Unions' Stand on Electricity Privatisation
According to the Daily Telegraph of December 20th Michael Costa characterised
NSW Unions actions against electricity privatisation as '"Running One
Nation-like campaigns about foreign ownership "
Well, thank you for the publicity - (is that our Christmas present, Mr
Costa?) - but for once you got something right, because you recognised
that, unlike Labor and the Coalition, One Nation has a general policy
against
the selling of public utilities and assets. We believe one core duty of
Government is to provide essential services, power being just one, to all
citizens without fear or favour.
In the case of this sale, even the basic figures don't add up. If
the buyer pays $15 billion, then they must recoup that money from our
electricity bills, so NSW consumers will end up paying $15 billion on top
of what they
pay now.
It's about as good a business deal as selling your house and agreeing that
you'll pay the new owner rent to live in it for the rest of your life,
with the owner having the option to increase the rent at any time, and
no option for you to move out.
Apart from that, what about the hypocrisy of NSW Labor in considering a
deal with the Chinese Communist regime that allows no free trade unions,
lets tens of thousands of workers die in industrial accidents every
year due to atrocious working
conditions, pays no workers' compensation, no
pensions and allows no free elections.
Maybe that's what these wall-to-wall Labor governments have in store for us.
One Nation supports Unions NSW in their action and will be working
closely with
them to undermine the Macquarie St mafia in their latest treachery
against the people of NSW.
