Unions Must Stand Firm Against Iemma's Bid To Sell Our Power System

NSW Unions and the ALP rank and file must stand firm against Premier Iemma ’s bid to sell off our electrical power system.

The private investors eager to get their hands on this license to print money aren't a charity organization, electricity users will have to pay back whatever the private investors pay for the system so the investors can recoup their money.

There are 3,200,000 electricity account holders in NSW, if our power system is sold for $15 billion, each account holder will eventually have to repay their share of this which is about $4,200. and this is over and above operating costs, interest repayments, exorbitant salaries of the private owners and even more exorbitant profits.

The NSW Government will also lose whatever profit it now makes from the power system.

Apart from that could you have any faith in a scheme that was dreamed up by those responsible for the Cross City Tunnel?

The cheapest way to upgrade NSW power is for the Government to borrow the money, as it's just a fact that governments can borrow money at a cheaper rate than private companies.

When One Nation was formed thousands of ALP members and voters flocked to the new party because the ALP had abandoned its traditional supporters.

One Nation says NSW unions and ALP delegates should stick to what is left of their principles and vote to retain NSW Electricity in public hands.
