Navy Scandal Proves Women Have No Place in Front Line Combat

The current scandal involving the alleged sex game among sailors on Australian navy ships reinforces the stance set out in the Women in the Services section of One Nation Defence Policy that there is no place for mixing male and female service personnel in combat roles.

In her recent book, The Lonely Soldier: The Private War of Women Serving in Iraq, author Helen Benedict examined the experience of female soldiers serving in the US military in Iraq and elsewhere.

The BBC on 17th April, 2009 reported in a review of the book "More American women have fought and died in Iraq than in any war since World War II..... Some 600 have been wounded, and 104 have died. .... Between 2006 and 2008, some 40 women who served in the Iraq War spoke to the author of their experiences at war. Twenty-eight of them had been sexually harassed, assaulted or raped while serving.

"According to several studies of the US military funded by the Department of Veteran Affairs, 30% of military women are raped while serving, 71% are sexually assaulted, and 90% are sexually harassed.

"The [US] Department of Defense acknowledges the problem, estimating in its 2009 annual report on sexual assault (issued last month) that some 90% of military sexual assaults are never reported."

These figures prove Western Governments are not only endangering the lives of female service personnel in the Afghan and Iraq wars that should never have happened but also sacrificing their well-being in a ghastly exercise of political correctness, "gender equality" and "affirmative action" pushed to the point of absurdity.

One Nation says the Australian Government should put an end to this bizarre experiment and take the mothers and daughters of this country who have chosen a military career out of all combat duties without delay.
